Royal National Mod memories

A real blast from the past. Here’s a story most of you won’t know. I entered the Royal National Mod first in 2010 when in came to Caithness. I was 13, I was in the under 19s category. I was delighted to win. I missed the next year due to the distance to Stornaway and then entered the next year, this time a technical error and I was in the over 21 category (adults) at aged 15. I didn’t say anything, played  and won. I entered two more times and this time purposely entered the adult category and won the hat trick before I stopped competing. No one noticed a young 15 year old in the adult competition… I guess I looked old for my age ? Ha ha ! Fun memories but glad I don’t compete anymore… see you all soon

Successful Ireland Trip

Just back from Ireland and 4 enjoyable concerts and 4 standing ovations. Moate, Claremorris, Dunmanway and finishing up in Cork City. The last two along with the Donal Ring Jnr Family band. Thanks to Donal for running the Cork shows and to John Egan for his help in Claremorris. These shows were so enjoyable and I’d like to thank everyone for supporting them.  We are off to Crieff Accordion and Fiddle Club on Thursday, a private function in Aberdeen on Saturday  and then Castle Douglas Accordion and Fiddle Club on Sunday…. See you then
